It may be a new year but the dessert craze at weddings is here to stay! As 2009 wrapped up, we saw a transition from candy bars to dessert bars. Now in 2010, couples are looking for a way to make their desserts unique, colorful, and most importantly FUN!
We still love cake and cupcakes (really, really love cupcakes!) but dessert bars or specialty passed desserts are the perfect way to leave guests with a sweet reminder of your special day.
Some of our favorite whimsical ideas are pictured here. Pastry chef Andrea Schwob has a twist on traditional milk and cookies with a tasting dish of gourmet cookie and adult milk (Kahlúa vanilla milkshake!) Another DM favorite dessert are cheesecake pops - this adorable and delicious dessert was featured on "Mimi on the Move" and is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Who doesn't love chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick covered in candy!? Finally, Martha Stewart offers a fantastic idea if you are really into reminiscing about childhood confections - try these cotton candy treats wrapped around rock candy and died to match your wedding colors!
